By Donna Mukuria. Ronald McDonald House Charities Marketing & Communications Intern
Hi, my name is Donna Mukuria, and I am a rising high school junior from Columbus, Ohio. I am also an intern at the Ronald McDonald House through the Nationwide Children’s Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families program. I have previous internship experience, including time spent at Mount Carmel and the Ohio Treasurer’s Office, and I’m thrilled to be an intern at the Ronald McDonald House. I have a strong desire to give back to the community. My goals while interning here are to have a positive impact at the Ronald McDonald House, to contribute to the vision of Ronald McDonald House Charities by assisting in providing essential services to families whose children are facing medical challenges, and to help with the marketing and communications functions of the organization.
Being the oldest of three kids, I enjoy spending time with my little sister and brother. A fun fact about me is that I’ve been a girl scout since kindergarten, and I traveled to London, England, through my girl scout troop. I really enjoy traveling, and I intend to do so more frequently in the future. I’ve also stood on the Prime Meridian and the Equator, which is another fun fact about me. I enjoy spending time with friends, taking walks, and riding my bike. I enjoy playing many different sports. Skiing, cross-country, and swimming are three of my favorite sports. I’ve swum in the Indian Ocean, which is another interesting thing that I’ve done. I enjoy participating in volunteer work and cross-country running.
My goals beyond the terms of this program are to make a positive impact on the world and to serve others. My dream job is to work as a veterinarian because I love animals and would love to be able to help them.
