Introducing Marketing & Communications Intern Madeline Murch

By Madeline Murch

Hello! My name is Madeline Murch, and I am a passionate student of Marketing and HR Management at the University of South Carolina. Born and raised in New Albany, Ohio, I have called this place my home for as long as I can remember. As a Columbus Foundation Summer Fellow, It is with great enthusiasm and a strong desire to make a difference that I am embarking on an internship with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Central Ohio this summer.

The Columbus Foundation Summer Fellowship, renowned for its commitment to empowering young leaders, provides a unique opportunity for individuals like me to work with esteemed nonprofit organizations in the Columbus area. The fellowship combines professional development, networking, and a chance to make a difference in the community. I am honored to be part of this esteemed program, where I can utilize my skills and passion to contribute meaningfully to the mission of RMHC Central Ohio.

Prior to starting the fellowship, I had already been actively involved as a volunteer at RMHC of Central Ohio for the past month. During that time, I dedicated my efforts to assisting with social media management and learning about visual communications. This experience provided me with valuable insights and knowledge that allowed me to seamlessly transition into my internship role.

One of the exciting projects that I have been entrusted with involves the planning a way to celebrate the monumental expansion that will be opening its doors this winter. With over eighty new guest rooms being added, this Ronald McDonald House will become the largest in the world. Being a part of such a significant endeavor fills me with a sense of pride and gratitude.

My specific responsibility revolves around organizing a grand scavenger hunt to be held at the new expansion, while promoting it through social media platforms. This entails designing routes, structuring the game, reaching out to donors for support, and devising unique strategies to captivate attention and create buzz. I have already begun outlining my ideas and plans, eager to make this event a memorable experience for all involved.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to intern at RMHC of Central Ohio as part of the Columbus Foundation Summer Fellowship. With my background in marketing and my unwavering dedication to making a positive impact, I am eager to embark on this transformative journey and contribute to the growth and success of the organization!
