We are one of the many volunteer groups who help prepare hot meals for families who stay in this facility. This group, The Ladies of Colts Neck (and a few faithful ladies from Gahanna) have been actively involved and volunteering at RMHC for about 3 years and find it to be a very rewarding experience.
Here are just some of the reasons we enjoy preparing meals at the Ronald McDonald House:
- “We feel good about serving the needs of our local community, and love the Ronald McDonald cause. It is such a great organization, helping out-of-town families with seriously ill children.”
- “We enjoy the camaraderie of our group which includes many of our friends from Gahanna.”
- “We enjoy cooking, and it’s fun to try new recipes while meeting neighbors and catching-up with friends.”
- “We love to see the gratitude of the people who come for a hot breakfast before the start of a long day at the hospital.”
- “We feel so fortunate that our children are healthy and we want to help others who are faced with serious health issues. Our hearts go out to the parents and siblings who need emotional care and a hot meal, just as much as the sick child needs medical care.”
- “Preparing a meal involves a small amount of time that we can easily squeeze into our busy schedules.”
