Learn About Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio

A family at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio

For more than four decades,

The Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio has been keeping families close. From its beginnings as a grassroots movement established by a partnership between volunteers and local McDonald’s owners/operators, the charity has served thousands of families in their deepest times of need.

Our House exists because of wondrously generous individuals who have continued to believe in the power of love and kindness. The support we are provided means a great deal to our guests families. Since our beginning we have been striving to keep families together in “the House that Love Built.”

Offering Stability

The reality of having a child sick and in the hospital can be incredibly overwhelming to parents and siblings.
What the Ronald McDonald House is able to provide these families is a bit of stability in the midst of unthinkable circumstances. When a child is hospitalized, the comfort of having family nearby is beyond measure. It is this heartfelt purpose that both drives and defines RMHC of Central Ohio.

Frequently Asked Questions

About the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio

All families must be referred by their partner hospital.  Please ask your child’s provider to submit a request on your behalf.  Once we receive and process the request, we will call you.

Parents, family members and legal guardians of patients may stay if they are participating in the patient’s care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital or an area NICU. All guests must live 35 miles or more away from the partner hospital.

We have a special meeting space for visitors. Please speak to the front desk for more information.

We are located at 711 E. Livingston Ave. directly across from Nationwide Children’s Hospital

We encourage a $20 nightly donation. Please check with your insurance or Medicaid provider as many times these will pay for your stay.  No family is turned away for the inability to pay.

Families are able to stay at the House as long as their child is receiving ongoing treatment.  We ask families to check out within 2 hours of discharge or appointment completion.

If you would like to support a future family’s stay with a donation, please see the front desk.  You can also visit the “give” tab on the top of our website.
