Learn About Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio
All families must be referred by their partner hospital. Please ask your child’s provider to submit a request on your behalf. Once we receive and process the request, we will call you.
Parents, family members and legal guardians of patients may stay if they are participating in the patient’s care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital or an area NICU. All guests must live 35 miles or more away from the partner hospital.
We have a special meeting space for visitors. Please speak to the front desk for more information.
We are located at 711 E. Livingston Ave. directly across from Nationwide Children’s Hospital
We encourage a $20 nightly donation. Please check with your insurance or Medicaid provider as many times these will pay for your stay. No family is turned away for the inability to pay.
Families are able to stay at the House as long as their child is receiving ongoing treatment. We ask families to check out within 2 hours of discharge or appointment completion.
If you would like to support a future family’s stay with a donation, please see the front desk. You can also visit the “give” tab on the top of our website.
The remainder of our annual operating income comes from the generosity of individual and corporate donors. McDonald’s involvement extends far beyond monetary support.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a nationally recognized pediatric hospital, and is increasing its draw from outside of Central Ohio based on the specialized care offered and its outstanding reputation throughout the world. This expansion of service has resulted in a greater need for services provided by the Ronald McDonald House.
As an integral partner, Nationwide Children’s has made in-kind and cash donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. These donations include:
Lease over one acre of prime real estate adjacent to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, for $1/year.
Exterior maintenance of facility including landscaping maintenance.
Assistance with various internal operations such as technology and human resources needs.
Purchasing the previous Ronald McDonald House and arranging another lease to facilitate the move to our current facility on Livingston Avenue.
McDonald’s has also made a very generous commitment to our capital campaign to add another 80 guest rooms, along with a new kitchen and dining area, community space, and new offices.
Although McDonald’s is our largest corporate donor, no company can solely fund RMHC programs and our projected growth. We need the support of the entire community and greatly value any support you can afford to RMHC, whether it’s through cash donations, your time, or fundraising efforts.
